KBS RustSeal is a single component high-solid content, rust preventive coating / rust paint / sealer. It is impervious to road salts and almost every chemical. RustSeal self levels out to a smooth rock-hard finish that resists chips and scratches.

RustSeal painting over rust RustSeal is specifically formulated to stop and encapsulate existing rust and corrosion, and prevent new surfaces from developing rust. By using it’s moisture curing mechanism, RustSeal combines with atmospheric moisture to start the curing process of the resins expanding and interlocking within the pores of the rust. This unique process literally enables the coating to galvanize itself to the material, becoming an integral part of the surface.


RustSeal will indeed provide superior rust protection when coated directly over a minimally prepared surface, however only our unique 3 Step Total Rust Eradication System offers the proper surface preparation and unmatched rust stopping power, see our complete kits available which also include aquaklean and rustblast which are ideal if you are going to DIY rather than prep with a sandblaster in which case this product on it’s own would be ideal. While the KBS coating has a moderate level of UV stability, the finish will dull and fade if exposed for extended periods to direct sunlight. RustSeal can be top-coated with any topcoat system you choose for a bright, lasting shine finish.
